Frequently asked questions

How often is a dressing change needed?

Frequency depends on the stage of the pressure sore, the dressing used and the medical care plan, commonly every 24–48 hours.

Can a pressure sore heal completely?

Healing is often possible with appropriate wound care, pressure relief, nutrition and medical follow-up, although the course depends on severity and the patient’s overall health.

Does a doctor need to be present?

Not necessarily for each dressing change, but medical assessment and follow-up are important for an appropriate treatment plan.
